 逢甲大學為中台灣唯一通過AACSB國際商管教育認證

By rapid development of social issues and related organizations of CSR, social enterprise and sustainability literacy in Taiwan, the public and civil sectors give them high regards. More and more colleagues in School of Business FCU increasingly generate their research interest on Social Business and Management, including a number of teachers with relevant expertise in the Humanities and Social Sciences. With highly recommendations, Research Institute of Social Enterprise (RISE) was established in the School of Business. Through research projects and academy-business collaboration RISE conducts exploring the issues of CSR, Social Business and understanding the bottlenecks faced by our civil society, then providing management consultations and services for these initiatives. Since that related researches in this sector are still sparse and divergent, Professor Wade, chairman of “group of public and nonprofit management research” in “Management Research Association” initiates a separate discussion group of Social Business. Harvard business School has thus set up Social enterprise Initiative of Harvard Business School for training the future managers with essential social value. School of Business FCU is accredited by AACSB for its researches of CSR and social responsible achievements, in which RISE plays a significant role.

School of Business FCU has the most generous conditions in the central region TAIWAN. RISE has from its beginning closely collaborated with departments of cooperatives economics, to develop its strategic network in public, not-for-profit and profit sectors and to create a unique and crossover approach of management and enterprising either in academic research or in business practice. To meet the overall trend of social development and the needs of local non-profit business (non-profit and cooperative enterprise) by restructuring and learning, RISE started from microfinance mechanism  and benchmarking of Grameen Bank and tried to find appropriate business models for Taiwanese social business through fundamental research of credit unions and strategic partnership with Credit Union League Taiwan (CULROC).

With governmental allowance and other private resources for a number of credit union research, especially under assistance of FCU, Dr. Yu Yao-Men, former Head of the Department of Economics, invited colleagues in the department. Credit Unions Research Center (CURC) is finally established in February 2001, focusing on credit union research. At the same time in the embryonic stage, the preliminary research team was integrated to set up an application oriented data bank and website along with a FCU-supported research program. The impactful research performances are increasingly subject to public attention. For expanding the social impact and meeting social needs in non-profit and cooperatives sectors, the members of CURC felt the necessity of restructuring and self-empowering. Other colleague across business and finance disciplines were invited. On 24 February 2003 by witness of Dr.  Lin Fang-Mei, former head of National Youth Commission, and Dr. Liu An-Chi, former President of Feng Chia University, "Research Institute of Social Entrepreneurship (RISE)" and "Program of non-profit organization Management (PNPOM)" (then “Program of Social Business Management (PSBM)” 2013) in undergraduate school in frame of School of Business were established. RISE and PSBM built close relationships with the NPO division of EMBA program for building a platform of Academy-Business-Public interactivity in central Taiwan. The interactivity has shown its performance either in academia or in praxis. Now RISE has characterized itself as a think-tank and service initiative focusing on collaboration of social business and corporate responsibility, aiming at finding total solution for environmental and socio-cultural sustainability by corporate management and social innovation and entrepreneurship.
