Research Institute of Social Enterprise(RISE)
Introduction
Research Institute of Social Enterprise (RISE) a fresh-born academic organization subordinating itself to College of Business, Feng Chia University in Taichung. It is transformed from the Credit Union Research Center (CURC) grounded by some scholars interesting in non-profit monetary organization. RISE is therefore organized by scholars, across departments at the College (such as department of economics, cooperative economics, statistics, accounting, insurance, business administration and public administration), who have researched on the fields i.e., (monetary) Credit Union and other mutual-aided and mutual-benefit local micro-scale enterprises as main objects. Now, RISE is recognized through Taiwanese government as only entry into nonprofit research in middle Taiwan.
Faculty and Staff
- RISE consists of members from all departments of college of business who are interesting in research and other educational activities of non-profit and cooperative sectors.
- RISE is managed by a member-elected/suggested director, a chief executive officer and three missionary officers, I. e. those for information, research and administration.
- The director and officers are all volunteers, are authorized and hence responsible for the development of RISE.
- Honored consultants are invited in the framework of RISE development.
Service Items
- Consultation for Non-Profit and Cooperative Management
- Supporting the pedagogic activities of NPO and Cooperative program of MBA and those of undergraduates.
- As governmental agent, conducting training program for civil societies (NPOs and Coops) in the framework.
- Conducting research projects authorized by official and private sectors.

- A series of 10-12 reference books for NPO management supported by National Youth Commision (Ju-Liu Publ., ongoing)
- Logistic data-banks supporting research around credit Unions and other social ventures in Taiwan
